Testimonials

"We were so frustrated and overwhelmed trying to help our daughter. NAMI Frederick's Family to Family course literally saved our family. It helped us better understand what she might be experiencing and taught us how to more effectively navigate and advocate for available mental health services for more coordinated comprehensive care. She is now stable, safe and has a much improved quality of life. We are eternally grateful to NAMI for this course, the valuable information and the incredibly supportive community."

"At first I thought my mania destroyed my chances of having a "normal" life. My family didn't know how to support me, I didn't know where to turn. Then I found NAMI, it's programs and people. With NAMI, I found hope. NAMI helped me learn more about my illness and available treatment options. Today I'm in a position to be able to give back and help others by facilitating a Connection Support Group and sharing my story as an "In Our Own Voice" presenter."

"Our son started exhibiting symptoms in elementary school and we struggled as a family to figure out how to best support him. We heard about the NAMI Basics class and it enabled us to feel supported and more educated in our journey with our son. It's been a long road and NAMI has been there for us through the all the ups and downs. We started with NAMI Baltimore Metro and now live in Frederick County where my husband and I continue our NAMI journey by giving back as teachers, facilitators, and outreach."
